Sometimes you really do need advice from a regulated financial adviser. But, much of the time, you just need a bit of friendly coaching – so we’ve created a fairly priced “money-coaching” service to help you to build your plan for financial freedom. Often this is common sense – and you can certainly get lots of information by scouring the internet. We’re just trying to make it easier, bringing information together so more people actually build their plan. You probably only need three hours per year – two on your own and one with your “money coach” …. that should be enough to help you along the path you’ve chosen to take.
What are the key rules we believe in?
- Know your numbers – What do you earn? What do you spend? How much do you save? How big (if any) is your savings pot? What do you put aside for those special expenses? What do you need to retire comfortably?
Know your financial risk profile – Would you start-up on your own? Would you borrow beyond your net worth? Would you prefer to keep all savings/investments accessible? Would you allow your savings to fall in value in the short term with the prospect of a greater longer term return? We all have a risk profile and, surprisingly, this changes very little throughout life – so, what’s yours when it comes to money?
Know your goals and invest with them in mind (short, medium, long term). We`ve all been to school, some of us go on to University, then work, perhaps buy a house and have a family, and finally retire and live off our savings. Easy to say, but not soooo easy to manage – particularly the money part. Houses and children take their financial toll and to retire youll need a pot of money to live off ….. especially if you plan to live for 25 years or more without working.
